Easter is early this year, being celebrated this weekend, April 4, 2021. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ for the Christian religion and is the most important date for Christians besides maybe, the day Jesus was born (Christmas Day). Good Friday is also a holiday, and is the Friday before Easter. This year it is on April 2, 2021. Good Friday is the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross and died. Most everything is closed from Good Friday to Easter Sunday including schools and many businesses. 12 states consider Good Friday a state holiday, including Texas.
